Philip Walter Foden, an English professional footballer, plays as a middlefielder for Premier League team Manchester City and the England national soccer team. He is one of the most talented young players in the country.

Phil Foden is English. He was born in Stockport (Lincolnshire). Patrick is the second child in his family. Patrick has an older brother and a younger sister, which were big influences on his childhood dream to be a footballer.
From the beginning of Phil Foden’s football career, to the present day, his parents were there for him. Foden was a Manchester City supporter since he was just four years old. In an interview in 2018 with Manchester City’s website, Foden recalled the tragic story of his club membership.
When I was in primary school, I heard that a City coach was coming to train year six children. I was several years behind them so they asked, “Have any other players that might be interested us?” After our PE teacher shared my story, the coach took me outside to train with him. He liked me and gave me his card to show my parents. Since that day, I have been living in City.
My mum and I supported City when derby day came around. Then my dad and my brother supported United. We argued and debated about who would win. But, since I was in City’s first team, and I was against United, I believe I am slowly making him a City fan. He’s not as passionate about United now as he was before.
