Second son to Dorita Bonucci and Claudio Bonucci, Leonardo Bonucci was born in Pianoscarano the medieval town of Viterbo, and his older brother Riccardo. He began in football along with buddies with the team from Pianoscarano before joining his team from his hometown, AS Viterbese, in 2000.
